Google Ads

11.2.2024

In the following article we will talk about all the sections that are within the account settings page, we will understand what options we have and how it is used by us.

Account Settings

On this page, we can configure a lot of important things for our advertising account,

From the username to negative keywords that we want to avoid using them throughout our account.

Let's talk about the important definitions on this page:

Data protection contacts

In this tab, we can add contact information of different people who are responsible for the information of our account.

They will receive updates from Google Adès regarding Google Ads' data processing conditions and the EU General Data Protection Rules.

Auto-tagging

In this tab we can configure all the ads in our account, automatically add a parameter to the link in our ad that will help us track conversions that are made in the app so that we can update current data on Google Analytics.

Tracking

Here we can define a URL template to follow.
A tracking URL template is a template that is added to an existing link in an ad, so that it can get more information about the users coming from that link.

Using the URL template, we can get more accurate information about the sources of traffic from which visitors come to the site and we can also get more accurate information about all the actions that users perform on the site that will be used by us to improve our advertising.

Call reporting

In this tab we can configure receiving information about calls received from the publication, for example when calls were made and received, the duration of the calls and the area code of the person who called. This includes reporting calls from Google ad formats.

For people living in the US there is the option to store the calls made for up to 30 days and also listen to them.

Negative keywords (negative keywords)

In this tab we can add negative keywords at the account level. That means that every word we define here will not appear in any campaign we do Advertising on Google In the search network. If there are irrelevant keywords that appear in several campaigns every time and you are tired of them, you can remove them here. If you haven't started publishing yet and you already have keywords that you want to avoid, we recommend that you make a neat list and upload it here before you start posting.

Lead form ads terms policy

If you plan to use the Google Lead Form plugin in your ads, you will need to approve the form usage policy in this tab.

Customer Match

The Customization tab in Google Ads' settings lets you configure Google to use your existing customers' data to refine your ads. This data can include names, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, and more.

To use Customer Match, you must meet two conditions:

  • You must have a Google Ads account with a history of at least 90 days and with a total spend of at least $50,000.
  • You must have existing customer data that you want to use.

preferences

On the preferences page we can configure the system language of the advertising account and in addition see all kinds of details about the account, which can also be seen on the previous page of the account settings.

notifications

On this page we can define what notifications each user will receive for their email.

In the event that we manage a team, we can configure for each employee the alerts that we want him to receive by email.

Access and Security

On this page we can give more users access to the advertising account.

If there is a new employee on the team, we can add his email and define what permissions he has in his account and what his job is.

In addition we can configure two-step verification for the account.

Connected accounts

Here we can add and see all the accounts that are linked to our advertising account, such as Google Analytics, Google Merchant, YouTube and others..
